HANAHI ECOWOOD is a handmade lamp shade made in high quality paper using the ancient Japanese paper folding method Origami.
So, what’s different? Its woody look comes from a new exotic veneer made from banana plant trunks!
That’s right! No deforestation! In fact, because the banana plant is a giant grass and not a tree it grows to full size every 9 months and once the bananas had been harvested the mother trunk naturally decomposes. Now a French company recycles the banana plant trunks and gives it a second life transforming it in a beautiful veneer!
And Tedzukuri Atelier transforms this incredible new material in beautiful lampshades! Everything done by hand, with lots of love and care as usual!
